35 BILLION on Jets?!

I just cannot get over and move past this topic. I felt it deserved some attention...

I am going to make it a mission to figure out why in the name of whomever you believe in, our leaders would choose to spend this immaculate sum of taxpayers dollars on what amounts to (IMO) 'toys for big boys'.

I will begin with the bare bones of what I believe may amount to one of the biggest scandals in the history of our country, and what could proove to be a mistake of colossal proportions by the ones we trust to make healthy decisions for the good of us all.

Now, I am all for National Security & Defense. I beleive that things like border/immigration control, a certain quantity of military presense, intellegence agencies and such are a necessary part of our complex society in its current form. However, when I think of security, I think of things like; walls, survellence, and defensive structures and institutions meant to defend and protect our nation.

I, for one, do not consider an F35 Attack Jet, (because that's exactly what it is) a defensive mechanism, in any way. I just don't see how something like this could be confused for such. By all means, this blog is meant to encourage points of view from both sides of the spectrum, so those out there who differ or flat out disagree, please, I am very interested in an open discussion. As stated before, it's my goal to figure out exactly what is going through the minds of those who try to justify this kind of purchasing/investing/spending.

To be Con't...
